The following announcement appeared in the West Briton newspaper, Truro, Cornwall, UK on 30 July 1852. I have no further information, nor any interest in the family. I purely forward it to the List in the hope that it's of use to someone. Best wishes, Tom Thompson, St Agnes, Cornwall. ---0--- West Briton & Cornwall Advertiser - 30 July 1852 Births At Waltair, in the East Indies, on the 15th of April last, at the house of her father-in-law, Brigadier General J. P. JAMES, formerly of Helston, commanding the Northern Division, the wife of Capt. G. L. JAMES, 5th Regiment M. N. I., a son.
Dear Tom, Thank you so much for your continued postings from West Briton newspaper. With your G.L.JAMES posting I learned two things: where the JAMES clan hail from (which is very ironic given my mother's mother's clan hail from Helston too) and that G.L's father is also Indian Army - yippee! Kind regards Robin
