In the 1851 UK census she was in Bath with her age recorded as 65 born in India, British subject. Her father was Major General Edward RAWSTORNR (1745-1801). She is my wife Brenda's 3g-grandmother. As you can see, I know a lot about her. The one important missing fact is the identity of her mother. I have looked for her parent's marriage in the area of Badsworth, Yorkshire (Edward's birthplace and where they apparently had a home), in the parish indices that have been transcribed to no avail. There is a chance there may be some information about the mother of Eliza in the entry for Edward Rawstorne in the book List of the Officers of the Bengal Army, 1758-1834 by V. C .P. Hodson, the FIBIS database gives the page reference 616-617 . This book is available on LDS microfilm in addition to being available in many Libraries , including the British Library.
