    3. Hello List Peter said: I am following up an entry from the Times of India 1891 (See Fibis we page) about an H.LENNON who married Annie Margaret a daughter of my Gt.Grandfather James Patrick PEMBROKE, Asst.Commissary- General. The entry says that Mr Lennon was of "St.Thomas College" but so far I have not been able to trace any more info about him... and Penny said: FamilySearch Marriage; Henry Lennon born 1865 (father Frank) married Annie M Pembroke born 1861 (father James) 28 Nov 1891 at Murree, Bengal, India The marriage took place in Murree, so St Thomas College is very likely to be St Thomas College, Murree which opened in 1882 according to this Google Books link http://books.google.com/books?id=UveLzKDlZBEC&pg=PA138 from "The magic mountains: hill stations and the British raj" by Dane Keith Kennedy, page 138 A Google Books snippet view from "Into deserts: a history of the Catholic Diocese of Lahore, 1886-1986" says: The Rome agreement provided that the Mill Hill Missionaries were to take over responsibility for the debts of St. Thomas College, Murree. Capuchin sources assess these at Rs.l. 00. Mill Hill sources say the debt amounted to Rs.25000.00. ... Other Google Books snippets suggests the Mill Hill Missionaries did take over the running of the School. It is apparent this College was in existence in 1891, when Henry Lennon married, however, there is no mention of it in the entry for Murree in the Imperial Gazetteer of India, published 1909-1931, so it is not clear just when it closed. The Archives of The Mill Hill Missionaries , or St Joseph's Missionary Society are described in this link http://www.millhillmissionaries.com/archives.html All the best for 2011 to everyone on the List Cheers Maureen (Sydney)
