Frederick Rice Stack was born on 17 Jul 1822. Notes for Frederick Rice Stack: General Notes: Stack is known to have served with the Saint Helena regiment as a Lieutenant from January 1842 until he was promoted to Captain on 5 August 1853. He transferred to the 65th regiment and subsequently served in New Zealand from 1857 until 1862 - he is now perhaps best known for his Views in the Province of Auckland, New Zealand. which was published in London by Day & Son in about 1862. Jane Elizabeth Stack-2 (Richard-1) was born on 07 Jun 1820 in Meerut, India. Thomas HUGHES was born in 1817 in Glasnevin, County Dublin City, Ireland. He joined the British Miliraty in 1841 and was discharged from the military in 1857. He was back in Ireland by 1860. Thomas Hughes and Jane Elizabeth Stack were married on 27 Jan 1851 in Bombay, India. They had the following children: i. Catherine Hughes was born on 03 Dec 1851 in Kurrachee, India ii. Joseph Augustine Hughes was born on 26 Dec 1853 in Belgaum, Karnataka, India. He married Nellie Conroy on 13 Jun 1883 in Portland, Oregon. He died on 14 Jul 1908 in Portland, Oregon. iii.
