hi folks, A timely warning from Mary! I've been chasing up my various family connections since 95 and that year I found a tree for my mother's maternal line going back to the early days of Tasmanian settlement. The facts about my mother's siblings and what happened to her when her mother died within a couple of weeks of Mum's birth was so garbled by the time it had been handed down a couple more generations. When I found the mis-information I contacted the person who had set up the site and asked that he make the corrections. He told me he would get right onto the job but that's at least 15 years ago and the story still hasn't been changed. its not as if the guy was lacking in computer skills, he held a fairly good position in the Australian Defence Dept in Canberra!!! But he just couldn't be bothered doing the corrections. Meanwhile, other family connections have copied these 'facts' from his site to their online family trees and so the myth continues!!!!!
