The date is interesting .... I have had a look at the actual images of (at least some of) the church registers which are on-line on FamilySearch. I first found in the second volume of marriages labelled 3c what I think is/are the Marriage Banns at Colombo on 17 July 1828: Johannes Andreas Sellembert Van Colombo Longman (could be Longmais or some other ending) met Arnolde Fredrica Pyster, Widuwe Byd van de geseformuide religie (not sure if this is right - maaybe someone familiar with Dutch language can correct it). Then I looked in the previous volume for 1802-1839, and found on p.247 (image 133 of 204) another entry dated 31st July which seems to be some sort of 'inquisition' of the couple, - which I cannot transcribe or understand* - and then below is the date 3rd September 1828, when presumably the marriage was confirmed or took place. *though after the bride's name, it says "late Nicolas" -whether that means her previous husband was Nicolas Pyster, or whether it was her maiden name, I don't know. The name Sellemberk/Sellembert does not appear in the list of DBU Genealogies, so maybe these people were only in Colombo for a short time. Good hunting!
