He had at least two sons born there (1881 Census). Besides Mary Jane I found one of those sons, and maybe another one, in the LDS records. Places of birth/baptism match with the places where the regiment was stationed at the time. None of them appear in the GRO Army Chaplains Births Indices, or the GRO Regimental Births Indices on findmypast. I don't see any 108th Reg. births there at all, even with other surnames. I'd best go after the LDS films, and try an e-mail to the GRO. Thanks for the Fibis link, somehow I have trouble navigating through their website.
