Nov 1867 this regiment was stationed in Madras, 4-4-1868 in Bombay, 10-4-1869 in Poona. Mary Jane Bennett, who might be his daughter was born 5-3-1868 and baptized 10-3-1868 in Poona (both IGI records) I know Bombay and Poona are not far apart. Is it likely that her mother was in Poona while the regiment had moved on to Bombay? Also, on the IGI record the mother is just named Mary. To prove the parentage I need her surname. If I get hold of the image, is there a chance her surname would be there? Would the regiment number be mentioned?
