Thank you to everyone who has replied to me both on- and off-list wrt my enquires about Bengal Public Consultations and the notation against a Bengal burial index record. You will have seen the on-list replies to the first enquiry. Wrt to the burial record, the notation 'IS2/152' means 'Indian States, Volume 2, page 152.' According to the LDS Family History Library catalogue, in the series 'Ecclesiastical returns, Indian States, 1889-1950' there are three LDS films: 498603 is the Index to births and deaths 1923-1950; 527422 is Volume 1 of baptisms and deaths 1889-1950; 527423 is Volume 2 of baptisms and deaths 1889-1950. The entries from Volumes 1 and 2 have been extracted and form part of the databases to be found on the LDS 'beta' search site. Noel
