Hello Listers, I have been carefully making sure that I have references for the information in my tree. I have my 4th x Great Grandfather, James RICHARDSON arriving in India in 1808 on the William Pitt, and that he was a Gunner in the Right Wing Carnatic European Veteran, Battalion. Also his marriage to Susannah PARISH on the 21 Feb 1820 with the reference N/2/7/312. For the life of me I cannot find where I obtained this reference, it doesn't appear to be the usual haunts such as the National Archives, FIBIS or the India Office Family History Search, the reference on the beta search site is an LDS film no. and doesn't give any other info. I know James died sometime before 1829 as his wife was a widow then and that he was apparently born around 1790ish. in Barnett Middlesex, I am presuming I have this information as well as his arrival date from the same source, but it could be two different sources I am missing. Does anyone have any clue which website I would have trawled to find James' military info and the British Library reference? If neither of these records is available on-line, my further suggestion is that the data were provided by a researcher such as Donald Jacques or via the Fibis Research Service.
