Hi Listers, I have a relative, Sophia Tubbs, ward of the LOS, married at the house of the Chaplain in Dum Dum 1816 to John Blake, a teacher in the LOS. No father's name is given for her. A burial in 1836 gives her age as 40, widow of John Blyth (John Blake being an alias at the time of marriage) i.e. 1796 birth. A baptism takes place in 1798 (source British Library microfilm) giving father's name William Tubbs. The burial and baptism both point towards having an age of 20 at the time of the marriage. What are your thoughts on this age being too old for still being a WARD of the LOS? Many thanks, Richard
