One is a tour of their Granite Mountain Vault and the other describes the digitizing process now taking place . Their goal is to digitize all of their records within the next ten years and put them on the FamilySearch website. These are the digitized images now showing up on their site. Many of the images are free to download but some collections will lead you to a paid site such as Footnote. If any of you are not aware of Dick Eastman's (almost) daily free newsletter I highly recommend that you sign up. He covers a wide range of topics related to genealogy and regularly posts information on updates to the beta FamilySearch site. Also, on the right hand side of the page are links to previous newsletters. I have deleted the link In Answer: I am sorry to throw a dampener on things, but the link takes me to the web page and tells me there is an incompatability problem with Internet Explorer 8 and gives me the option to upgrade to IE 9 BETA version. Absolutely no way would I do this, and I would urge caution to anyone who wants to try this. It might work for you, but I would definitely not upgrade to a beta version for anyone. I won't even upgrade to any software package that ends in version number x.00. I apologise if I am casting aspersions and I certainly don't mean to imply anything malicious is intended, but I truly think that anyone who wants to take advantage of upgrading to a "beta" system from Microsoft needs to know exactly what the risks are and should do so from the official Microsoft website and not some blog. They should also be technically aware and competent enough to put their system back together if it all goes pear shaped. Sorry, off soap box, just don't want anyone's system to be compromised.
