    3. Hello List Frances said: On another matter, could you please tell me how to access the work you cite, Eighteenth-Century Newspapers and Journals? I have access to ECCO but didn't see it there. Also she asked: Recently, (I think) a lister mentioned that he had found a baptismal record for an 18th century ancestor in the IOR archives. I was wondering what the shelf mark of those records might be. The FIBIS Fibiwiki has the page "Subscription websites-online newspapers, journals and directories" <http://wiki.fibis.org/index.php?title=Subscription_websites-online_newspape rs,_journals_and_directories> http://wiki.fibis.org/index.php?title=Subscription_websites-online_newspaper s,_journals_and_directories or <http://tinyurl.com/263csrn> http://tinyurl.com/263csrn Frances should look on the website of her participating library which provides access to ECCO to see whether access to Eighteenth Century Journals is provided. If not she could perhaps request that her library becomes a subscriber In respect to Frances' second query, Cadets and Writers were two classes of employees who provided baptismal evidence with their application forms. There may be others. 1. [INDIA] Col. Lawtie
    2. I am trying to find out more about the above-referenced person. I know he was active and living in Calcutta in 1794. I have found mentions of a Lieutenant-Colonel Lawtie in googlebooks. I was wondering how I could find out more about this person--like his first name, when he went out to India, and so forth. I am specifically looking for a military person by the name of Lawtie and the rank of colonel or lieutenant-col. All help greatly appreciated.
