Hi Listers I am hoping someone can help me with info on Isabella Brander who became a inspector of School s in 1880 in Madras India , As far as I know she married a James Brander but not sure if it was in England or India. Isabella was born London in 1849 parents Alexander Bain & Matilda Davis . She was in London in 1861 but no trace of her after that.

They married in Madras: 1876, June 3rd at Madras, James Brander, to Isabel Bain Just that simple announcement appeared in Domestic Occurrences in The Times of India for 8th June 1876 - available on the FIBIS database as a result of a volunteer indexing project. I couldn't find any mention of them on the FamilySearch beta - but like all datasets for India, this is most certainly not a complete record of all events. Suggest you consult the India Office Madras marriage indexes.
