Hi Maureen, Sorry, I should have said what wo97 was. A year ago it was all gobbledygook to me and now I am throwing all of these numbers around as if everyone should know what they are! I have just had a look at the national archive catalogue and it would appear that there are no records in the records of service in the militia - wo96 for the 55th Foot.
