    3. Thank you to both Maureen & Pat for the information they sent me. I finally managed to download the necessary TIFF programme to search the Times of India site, but am not finding it easy! Now know Edmund was Town Major of Madras in 1764, when he acquired a plot of land there. Also now need to try to find out whether the marriage in 1795 was "my" Edmund Pascal or not. Need a week at the British Library.
