I've also just discovered the FIBIS ancestry website and have unearthed some information that's new to me. For instance: that a W?? Shunker married a Lucretia Collick in 1856, (Note that her name is spelt with a C), presumably this W?? was our William. Christopher D'Monte was married to a Euphemia, (maiden name unknown), who died. They had a daughter Rosemund Matilda. He then married Clarissa Shunker in 1870(also recorded as M.C. Eva Shunker) on the same record. They had a 3 daughters, Harriet Constance, Daisy and Violet. Harriet was - we think - May Irene's mother and half sister to Rosemund (also known as Rose). Clarissa was a sister of William who was married to Lucretia Collick. It appears that my Grandfather Victor George Shunker was married to Rosemund first then to Harriet followed by Ivy Chatterton and Ruth Glendinning (nee Taylor). In response to various other threads I've spotted, (I apologise if this is old information), I notice that Edward C Shunker married an Annie E Schwenke in 1869. It's also very interesting to learn that there was a Noel Schunker in Lahore. We're still no closer to discovering where my mother May Irene was born however, if you're interested Lynda, my father George William White, is buried in Hosur (Oosur) Road cemetery in Bangalore.
