It was a great favourite in our household in the days when entertainment consisted of friends gathering in one another's houses for a meal and afterwards gathering around the piano for a 'sing song' - brings back wonderful memories of my school years in the 50s when Mum and Dad would pack us in the car for a drive out to their friend's farm for the afternoon and evening - we'd have an early meal around 6pm and then all gather around the piano for a good ol' singing session. The menfolk loved getting their vocal cords exercise copying the latest hits of such early singing stars as Nelson Eddy, Richard Tauber and the likes. Hello everyone. One of my ancestor Joseph Barretto of Calcutta and Bombay who lived in London had a son by the name of Joseph Augustus Barretto with Emily Potts. Joseph Augustus was born in London in 1821. He married twice: 1. Anna Gates who was born abt 1838. They were married in December of 1881 in Kensington, Greater London, London, Middlesex registered vol 5b page 268. 2. Unknown (any of the names: Edwards,Louisa/Evans,Margaret/Gordon,Anne/ or Owens,Catherine) married Sep of 1848 in Carnarvon, Anglesey, Caernarvonshire vol XXVII page 401. No info on the children of both marriages. Both records were found at ancestry.com. Since it is very impossible for me to personally check on these as I live in Manila, Philippines, would some kind hearted lister help me look-up or get a photocopy of these 2 marriage documents in case they are researching on the same records.
