I want to publically express my thanks to those on the India List who have provided possible directions for my search for William Henry Button's military history Thank-you Maureen, Ron, and Joss for the suggestions and links to potential information. A special thanks to Noel who actually located a possible WH Button reference in the Boer War and the link to it. Most of these sources were unknown to me. I will certainly be following up on these suggestions. Noel had asked whether my info came from an obituary. Yes the WW1 info came from his obituary. The Boer War and the boxing championships and India service were family lore provided by my mother. Looking for the obituary clipping I cannot immediately locate it (Recent move) and I also find that I haven't scanned it nor at minimum transcribed the information contained. A lesson to be learned. Strangely I did not see my posting in the list again. Is this a feature of this list, that the posting does not appear to the sender? Thanks Again. Support from this helpful list is much appreciated.
