Hi everyone. Thanks for the info that has been sent to me on FIELDSEND. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the following. My g grandfather Lewis Fieldsend was a steward with the Railway (I believe in Allahabad). Is there any way of confirming this? I am also trying to find out where he was born in India, as well, if his father Benjamin was born in India or the UK. There are so many Benjamin Fieldsend's in the UK censuses that I would not know where to begin I know Lewis and Amelia married in 1890 in Bengal. Several children followed (born in Cawnpore and Allahabad). My grandfather Emmanuel was a hospital porter. My father Donald was born in Moradabad in 1936. They left India in approx 1944 and went to Malta. They came to England in 1953. Unfortunately my father has passed away so I am unable to confim details with him. My g grandmother Amelia (Donegan) Fieldsend died in 1938 (indexing batch no: B75060-8 Source film no: 533195) and I found from www.familysearch.org that she was widowed which means Lewis predeceased her.
