    3. After recently reading the Will of Michael Crow, Uncovenanted Deputy Collector of Calcutta, died 1847, I think I might have finally found my Maternal gr.gr.grandmother, Caroline Davis's maiden name. Michael married Rose Marie/Maria, the eldest daughter of Henry Cornelius of the Marine Board in 1826. In his Will he mentioned his 3 sisters-in-law - Mrs Catherine D'Souza; Mrs Caroline Davis and Miss Lydia Cornelius. Whilst there were quite a number of Caroline Davis in Calcutta at the time, I feel pretty sure this one is mine. Maybe a coincidence, but in 1847, Michael Crow Jnr was Godfather to Caroline's 2nd daughter Emeline Constance Davis. In 1857, Caroline's sister-in-law Constance Rigordy(nee Davis) married a John Crow after the death of her 1st husband. Michael had a son called John (a few years younger than Constance). Also, I have a photo of my Mum & 2 of her older sisters taken in 1919 when she was 18, with a very elderly gentleman called Maxwell Cornelius. I've searched all the usual websites, but apart from the deaths of Henry (1826) & his wife Dorinda (1821), nothing. In 1861, from Michael's Mother's Will, his surviving chldren were John, Charlotte, Rose Virginia & Henry. Nothing on them either. If anyone has any of these names, including Rigordy, please get in touch. Many Thanks Olga ______________________________________________ This email has been scanned by Netintelligence http://www.netintelligence.com/email
