Hello List, Recently through the kind help of a fellow list member, I have obtained more information concerning the children of my Gt.Gt.Grandfather Edmund Burke Ryan (second marriage) to Susan Lydia Rutledge. Edmund was the eldest son of Sir Edward and Lady Louisa Ryan. Sir Edward was Chief Justice of Bengal. They returned to England in 1843/44. The eldest son of Edmund and Susan was, Henry Edmund Ryan (1845-1923). Died aged 77, but I do not have details as to where he died, nor where Maria his wife died, possibly Calcutta. He married a Maria Elizabeth Bell (widow) who was a daughter of John FLOOD. Is anybody researching FLOOD? Anybody researching RUTLEDGE? Children of Edmund Burke Ryan and Susan Lydia Rutledge/Ryan. Charles Died 6 `Oct. 1894 buried in the same grave as Edmund Burke Ryan his father in law, at the Lower Circular Road, Cemetery. Calcutta (Plot 19 2 e 18 North.) Hello Geoffrey I have been researching the name RUTLEDGE/ROUTLEDGE but in the UK, none that I know went to India. Do you know where your RUTLEDGE's were before India? My gg grandfather Edward ROUTLEDGE was born 1820 in Newcastle-on-Tyne and married Juliana GARLAND inn Poplar Middlesex UK in 1841 and emigrated to NSW Australia then later moved to Brisbane QLD, Australia.
