Hello List, I have been trying to search for John CAMERON b. 1841 Scotland d. 1927 Maymyo, Maynmar and his family in India. I have had loads of luck with Ecclesiastical records on the family search site https://beta.familysearch.org so armed with my film numbers I went along to the Family Records Centre to request copies of the films, all 25 of them. However they now cost £7.50 per film and as the very helpful person in the centre told me the records won’t tell me anything more than the transcribed records on the web site. So I have decided that I won’t go down that road I will make do with the copies of records off the site. Some fo the records are confirmed on the FIBIS site so I think I will be happy with that information. However I still have a query...The details are John Cameron was supposed to be a Doctor in the Welsh Fusiliers but with all the help people have given me from the Bengal Medical lists etc. we cannot find him. His granddaughter recalled that he had a full military funeral in Maymyo when he died in 1927. We are thinking that he may have been an apothecary and not a medical Doctor as he cannot be found on Ancestry’s site either. Can anyone help me please how can I find out about the Military Funeral.
