Further to my earlier email re the Will of John THORPE that I was having trouble deciphering, the name of the Executor of the Will was the Right REVEREND Fennelly, Reverend being the word I could not work out. Also the placename Kennedy I was trying to find looks like Kennedy Estate and this ties in with the place of abode for John & Catherine when their daughter Catherine was born in 1863 showing John Thorpe was an Overseer in PWD in Kennedy, the baptism at Visagapatam & Wellington LDS Film 0521852. Another thing I have just found that I could not decipher previously was one of the witnesses on the Will was the Supt of Police and as my John Thorpe Jnr. worked as a Clerk for the Police in the PWD in Hyderabad I feel this actually is the Will of my John Thorpe Jnr. which is very exciting as I've had this Will for some years thinking it was not any of my ancestor's Will. Now have to find out who the Supt of Police was in 1867 in Madras when John Thorpe Jnr died and also who was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Madras in 1867, which looks appears to be The Right Reverend Fennelly just to prove the above. I also have to find Catherine his wife now as originally John Thorpe Jnr had 3 children with Nursannah a Muslim lady, so unless Nursannah was christianised and changed her name to Catherine, John may have had a wife named Catherine AS WELL!!!! I have not been able to find any marriage for John Thorpe to Catherine but have found 2 children namely Mary Ann b 1859 and Catherine b 1863 to a John & Catherine in Madras.
