Greetings from Scotland We've had Bankers from Scotland got to be senior men in the 'National Bank of India' and now found a soldier there in the 1890's Can anyone help with information about the Royal Artillery in India in1895 I¹ve found the birth of George Frederick BRYON in Meerat India in 1895. (1911 Census) His father also George Bryon was then a Sergeant (promoted on 12 July 1894) according to his service papers. (WO97-1398-051) Two lines of questions Where can I find out about the RA in Meerat in 1895? And are there records of births in India for soldiers children in 1895? TIA Robin

My uncle Reggie Woodward (Calcutta Police) was married and divorced and remarried. He moved with second family to London in the 80s. I am trying to find his children from first marriage - I do not know much about them, other than one child was called Randolph Woodward Can anyone help, the ex wife and children went to Australia, maybe in the late 60s/70s Researching Woodwards post 1792 in India Cal/Buxar/Tundla and pre 1790s in London area. Would this be his place of birth or referring to something else? The only Wellington I know of is New Zealand. There was a cantonment near Ootacamund called Wellington. Hi Melanie Your Wellington may well be the one in South India in the Nilgiri Hills-when we lived nearby in Coonoor, it still had a cordite factory & was a military establishment. Regards. Herbie
