If you're missing a male ancestor that was born between 1830 and 1846, it's poosible that he was one of the nearly 460 Civil War soldiers aboard the Sultana steamship that exploded on the Miss. River, 7 miles N of Memphis, TN on 27 APR 1865. Indiana was exceeded only by Ohio and Tennessee for having the most soldiers aboard. While 2 in 3 Hoosiers aboard survived the ordeal, the rest never made it home. You can search by surname for your ancestors at the following URL: http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Tom/Indiana/INSult.html While you're visiting, be sure to follow the link back to my tribute page to my GGG Uncle, 10th Indiana Cavalry, at URL: http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Tom You won't regret visiting, I promise!
