    1. [INDEKALB-L] LUMM BASSA/BASSIE/BESSIE
    2. Hello all, Was wondering if anyone had knowledge of the Lumm family/families of Garrett and/or Auburn. Henry Lumm (my Great grandfather), Michael Lumm, Charles Lumm, Conrad Lumm, Albert Lumm and John Lumm were all having children in DeKalb county right about the same time frame (1885-1913). The rare last name, the small town in Indiana, and with the naming trends I'm seeing my guess is that they were all brothers. Henry named a son Conrad, and one Albert. Plus my mom said she thinks Henry came as a child, or at least rather young, from Kassel Germany pointing towards a family coming (His parents were John Lumm and Marthan Leowes? hard to read her last name in DeKalbs record book.) Henry's wife was also from the same town (Kassel) in Germany but she only met him after she was in Auburn. Her name was Martha Ann Bassie/Bassa/Bessie (spelled 3 ways in DeKalbs records) daughter of Conrad Bessie. Does anyone have ANY information on this family more than I have?? Also Looking for the family of John Moore and Julia DeVore...together they had a son James Albert Moore b. 3/2/1872 in Butler IN...I already know there is info on a John Moore and J. A. Moore in the history of DeKalb county but I dont know if theyre the same people as mine. Here its the opposite...instead of a rare name I have one thats almost too common to track. By the way, James Albert Moore married Mary Elizabeth Lumm (d/o Henry)...these were my great grandparents. Again any info on any of the people mentioned would be greatly appreciated.
