I recently received the following information on one of my RHODES' lines. Do the names Mathias RHOADES and Celesta WESTON sound familiar? My line connects to Laura RHOADES and Walter NEWMAN. Will gladly share the information I have. - Karen Borton In the book, "Spencerville" by Dr. Carey there is a reference to Charles A. RHOADES. Some folks dispute the accuracy of info in the book, but it's at least a start. The info is as follows: Charles A RHOADES b. 1843 d. 1928 (Only child of Mathias (b. 1813) and Celesta WESTON.) He was a Civil War soldier. Charles married Kate BOWMAN (d. 1876) and they had one son, Frank, of Akron. His second wife was Caroline BURLEY (d. 1942). Their 3 children: 1. Metta (married Arthur FURNISH) and their children are: Harold: lived in Leo, IN Charles: is now in a nursing home Mearle Dean: lives in Spencerville, IN 2. Laura (married Walter NEWMAN) d. abt 1917 and their children are: Tressie Mae b. 1905 Marian C. b. 1916 3. Bernie A. (married Esa BOZER) and their children are: Joyce Alice Gilbert
