Was wondering, does anyone know about the "Hessen Cassel" or the "Zion Lutheran (German)" cemeteries listed on the page? More specifically the ages of those cemeteries. Or even which cemeteries on the list were pre-1900? My mom and I are making a trip to DeKalb county the 23rd or 24th (in one week!!) and will be looking for any info on: LUMM: John L., Henry, Mary Elizabeth, etc MOORE: John, James Albert, Esther Ruth DEVORE: Julia BASSA/BASSIE/MASSEY: Conrad, Martha Ann The Lumm's and Bassa mixture were all from Kassel Germany in the county/province? of Hessen so we kind of wondered if theyd be buried in that cemetery, but John (and wife) and Conrad (no idea about his wife yet) wouldve died before 1900. Thats why I asked about the age of the cemeteries. The Bassa/Bassie/Massey is a new discovery. Records show about 3-4 spellings with the Bassa variation but mom found an old letter saying that the name was Massey...anyone know of them? Conrad has daughter Martha Ann who married Henry Lumm, together they had 7 children in Garret/Auburn areas. If anyone has any suggestions as to where to find good info in DeKalb, like does that Eckhart Library (that houses the Genealogy society) have a lot of info dedicated to the area? Lots of unanswered questions on this branch! Kathy Huish
