I know that my g grandfather and his twin brother were born in DeKalb County, IN...they were Edward and Edwin JACOBS, b. 16 Jan, 1840 or 41, sons of Levi and possibly Clarissa. I believe their sister Julia was also born there in 1845. I have been told the birth records don't begin until a later time. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to how to find this family in DeKalb County?? Levi is on the 1840 census for DeKalb County on Page 251 but no township is listed. The entire family moved to Racine, WI around fall of 1846 or 47 and settled in LaFayette Co., WI by 1855 for the remainder of most of their lives. I would really like to find them in DeKalb, what township they lived in or near, and especially what Levi's wife's name was and if Julia was born to her.
