Nancy >> Hello, Nancy, I found a record for the Boyle/Hay marriage you are looking for in the book "Early Marriage Records of DeKalb County, Indiana 1837-1882" compiled by Fayne E. Harter, June 17, 1970, page 222. This record was found in Book IV of the original records. It reads as follows: Newton S. Boyle July 23, 1874 Arena J. Hay by J. H. G. Prim I made a copy of this page in case you would like a copy - all you need to do is send me your "snail" mail address. I don't know if it is possible to obtain copies of the originals or not. If you'd be interested I'll try to find out for you. Evidently there were 2 fires at DeKalb County Courthouses, one of which, according to another compiler, was in 1914. Evidently many records were damaged with portions (mostly first names) being destroyed completely - but these records were carefully salvaged and copied into new books.
