I found a legal notice that Hannah Humbert of Stark Co. was married to Jacob Hubler and in 1849 they were living in Indiana. Oliver Hubler, also known as Oliver Putt, is my great grandfather. I have always known him as Oliver Putt, and just recently discovered that he served in the Civil War from Indiana under the name Oliver Hubler. I am mystified by the Humbert/Hubler connection because I am a also a Humbert descendent through Hannah Humbert's brother. Would love to find out more about the Hublers and unravel the mystery of the two names. If you can follow this, I'd be amazed. It's difficult to get down on paper.
