My Joseph KOCH ancestor and his two brother's came to DeKalb Co. in the 1850's because of the availability of cheap land. Johan Ulrich Koch, the emigrant, bought land for Joseph before the latter was of age, then sold it to him when he became 21. Older brothers Simon & Gottlieb also bought land here in the same era. The emigrant never moved from Ohio himself.
