Regarding the term "Benevolent Mother" I can not say that that is Ann Lee of the Quakers. She was called "Mother Ann" though. Mother Ann only had four children who all died young. A quote from "The Story of the Shakers". "To Ann Lee sex was sinful, the root of all trouble, and she thought herself punished for her own sexual experience by the early deaths of all four of her children. " Regarding her husband "---he left her for a woman of the streets, because Ann still denied him the pleasures of marriage." Many people were married who joined the religion. They were no longer able to live as man and wife after joining. This woman was married and had ten to twelve children. Was there a place for people who believed the same as Shakers, but were married?
