When you get off at the Auburn exit you will go right from the light at the exit. That will take you toward Garrett (you will be on Highway 8). You will go a few mile - through at least one stop sign - and will come to a large intersection - (it is called "mile corner") with a gas station on your left and a food stand called the "Blue Moon" and a gun store/practice center. Continue straight - (don't recall how far) but you will come to an intersection with a sign saying "Union Christian Churche" - you will turn right - the cemetery is on both sides of the road. Hope this helps. Regards, Cheri

Does anyone know if there are directories for DeKalb County for the years 1905-1911? Thanks, Kim
My only suggestion is to get off ofd I 69 at the Auburn exit and go W toward Garrett. The Cemetery is located at Indiana 8 and CR 7. The first Auburn exit coming from the N is Indiana 8. I can't tell you exactly where CR 7 is, so you might stop at any one of the gas stations and ask. Hope this is of some help. Good luck.
I don't know where it is, sorry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patt Klein" <pattkle@yahoo.com> To: <INDEKALB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 07, 2003 9:09 AM Subject: [INDEKALB-L] Christian Union Cemetery > Hi, > > Can anyone give me directions to Christian Union > Cemetery from I-69 southbound? I'm new to the list, but am searching for a Mabel Rowe who married Fred W Stoll. I know that they married in DeKalb County on March 5, 1916. Son, Walter A Stoll is born 1917 and then a daughter Alma is born about 1918. Mabel Rowe dies in 1919 and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Fred W Stoll was born about 1889 in Germany. He remarried in 1921 and had at least one more child that I know of. I need a more specific death date for Mabel E (Rough or Rowe) Stoll. I'd also like an obituary, but I can't get that until I have her death date. Also, I'd like to know if Mabel shows up prior to her marriage on the 1910 census for DeKalb county. On the 1920 census, her husband is living in Garrett. I believe they either lived in Garrett or Auburn. Are there city directories for either town that could be checked? Any help or suggestions you can give, would be greatly appreciated. Sue "Rough" Mack

I am wondering if anyone on this mail list has (or has access to) the book So Grows a City. I am hoping to get a copy (or scanned copy) the page with Helen Holsinger on it (P 71). The P means there is a photo. Can anyone help me? Karen P.S. I am a census lookup volunteer for Indiana census records if I can return a favor.
Eliza You have been so helpful, thank you so very much. I knew that part of the family had gone to Nebraska, but this information has given me much to think about and study. Again thank you. Dick
There is not a Will in DeKalb County; but I did find this information. Hope it will help you: Deed Books are found in the Recorders Office, DeKalb County Court House, Auburn, Indiana 46706 They cost $1. a page and if ordering please enclose a SASE. In Deed Book Q Page 398 there is an Isaac Fiandt, selling land to George C. Fiandt. Dated May 27, 1865 On page 479 of same Deed Book there is a Warranty Deed where John Fiandt, Amos Fiandt and Eliza E. Fiandt sold land to Alexander Provines. Dated December 2, 1863\ In Deed Book W page 132-133 This indenture witnesseth that Joseph Walter, Sarah Walter John Coy, Maria Coy Amos Fiandt, Eliza E. Fiandt, George C. Fiandt, Rebecca J. Fiandt, Isaac Fiandt and Rosanna Fiandt in the Sate of Indiana and Nebraska release to Alexander Provines certain lands. This is notarized in the State of Nebraska Saunders County On the first day of July 1872 before me clerk of the Dist court duly elected and qualified for and residing in said county personally came o C. Fiandt, Rebecca J. Fiandt, Isaac Fiandt and Rosanna Fiandt to me known to be the identical person whose names are affixed. Note: in this it is presumed that this Isaacs wife is Rosanna. In January 1, 1860 an Amos Fiandt married Eliza Moore December 21, 1865 Isaac Fiandt married Rosanna Zenter Is it possible that Rebecca died prior to 1865 and they all moved to Nebraska???? There was a John Fiant, a private who was mustered into the Company A of the One hundreth infantry. He was enrolled the 13th day of August 1862 and mustered out the 8th day of June 1865. He was born in Berks County Pennsylvania and was 29 years of age . He was 5 feet and ? inches high. Dark complextion, grey eyes black hair and by occupation was a farmer. This is from the Civil War records at the Court house and a copy is at the Willennar Genealogy Center, Auburn, In. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! Hi Dick For that period of time there may be other records to give us the information. While I am at the Courthouse will look to see what I can find. To see if they owned land here, etc. Did they move to another area? Eliza Dick Burkard <dburkard@satx.rr.com> wrote: Does anyone on the list have access to the DeKalb County Will index?
