He was living at home with his parents on the Barkey homestead and had been courting a girl in the community. She spurned him it appears, and he became very depressed. He took his own life. If you send me an e-mail I can give you more particulars on this. He is buried in the Highland Center cemetery east of Clatonia. It is a sad story indeed, and almost bnoke his parents' hearts. By the way, I have visited the grave of great Grandma Barkey [Hattie Fox Barkey] in Missouri. She and Aunt Eva, her oldest daughter are buried there. I have more information on them also. How is Cline doing? I hear from him once in a while, but his handwriting is difficult to decipher sometimes. He was my mother's favorite boy cousin. Kindest regards, Donald Lovelle Plucknett

My father is David Barkey who is the son of Cline Barkey who is the son of Frank (Francis) Barkey brother to your grandfather Roy Barkey. I have been researching the Barkey family and their maternal branches now for 4 to 5 years. I got as far as the 1600's and worked backwards. I'am now working on Ziegler Barkey and Hattie Fox. I will be happy to provide you with all the information I have. I have gathered most of my information from internet and library sources so their accuracy will need to be based on that source. The book I'm compiling for Barkey family members is now 700 pages long. I have some questions such as do you know how Burton Barkey died? He died so young at age 20. I look forward to hearing from you. Debbie Barkey-Fraaken

Nancy, The lot at the library is small but you might be lucky and find a space there. Otherwise a parking garage is across the street. Peg
There is a parking garage right by the library. I have an additional question about the Library. Are parking facilities available near the temporary Library? Thanks for any help. Nancy
Nancy, The library is still in temporary quarters but the facilities are very nice. All shelves are open for browsing and there is plenty of room. The building is at 200 E. Berry St. and your best directions are on the library's web page http://acpl.lib.in.us/ If you click on "Locations" you get a map. Peg
Peg, Thank you for your help. I'm glad to know they have roomy quarters even though temporary. I really appreciate your help. Nancy
As plans are being made for a trip east this summer, I would like to know if the Genealogy Collection is still housed in temporary quarters or if it has been moved back into the remodeled Library in Fort Wayne, IN. If the Collection is still in temporary quarters, can someone give me the address and where it is located from the Main Library building. I would like to know the hours it is open, also. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Nancy
