I would like to know Ludwick Countryman's death date. All I have is January 1904 and buried in Newville Cemetery. Does anyone know the day? Thanks
Is this Arlene Goodwin who did the Waterloo cemetery readings in DeKalb Co. Indiana? I've been trying to reach you. Carol

Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Th.2ADI/2116 Message Board Post: SAMUEL WARNER TWO SUDDEN DEATHS IN ST. JOE ST. Joe has again been deeply stirred by the death of two of her prominent citizens. Monday morning Samuel Warner passed away at his home after only a very brief illness. He was working at Auburn on a plastering job and taken sick was brought home Friday evening. He seemed quite jolly on Sunday afternoon but during the night he became worse, so that by 3 o'clock Monday morning he was gone. His illness was due to kidney and bladder trouble and later his heart became affected. Sam has lived here many years and was a public spirited man, taking the serious side of all public matters, weighing the matter from every angle and them taking the stand for the betterment of the public. He was indeed public spirited, congenial and a believer in a clean S. Joe. The funeral service was held from his home at 11 o'clock today (Ref: St. Joe News 10 Nov 1921)
Dear Blain, You are correct in stating that Lewis R. Tiffany died of wounds following the battle of Stones River (which began Dec. 31, 1862) but I believe your date is wrong. He received a severe gunshot wound in right hip and thigh and was sent to Nashville Hospital where he died Jan. 14, 1863; buried there in Grave #2630. Do you have his picture by any chance? ----- Original Message ----- From: <Robinpperry@aol.com> To: <INDEKALB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2004 2:40 PM Subject: [INDEKALB-L] RE: LEWIS TIFFANY > My name is BLAINE A. Their first son Frank married Alta Grogg but no children. Their second son Dan Pepple married Goldie Freeman and they had 5 children and one was Nettie Pepple Bunting. Not Nettie Grogg as you stated. Then Lydia's sister Francina Harrold married Levi Klinger. Their fourth child was Hattie Klinger (Surfus, Smith) and her first child Ruby Surfus married Loyal Grogg. Ruby's family is in Auburn but we aren't close to them. Part of Dan Pepple's family is around Corunna and Auburn. We see them occasionaly at funerals. Francina and Levi Klinger are my husband's grandparents. Lydia Pepple was my husband's great-aunt. So, there is a connection to the Groggs and the Pepples in my husband's ancestry through the Harrolds, Lydia and Francina. We are in touch with the son-in-law of Hattie Klinger Surfus and he knows the Surfus family very well. He has no phone but if you contact me through my e-mail address I can! give you his address. He might know the Pepples and the Groggs that match your photos.

Blaine: Hanford E. Tiffany (b:1850) married Clara A. Rodarmer, (b:1853) 12 October 1873, DeKalb County, Indiana. Clara is a daughter of William H. & Leah (Caldwell) Rodarmer of Newville, DeKalb County, Indiana. Leah is a sister of my gg grandfather, Benjamin Caldwell and they (with others) are children of Timothy & Martha M. (Swords) Caldwell of Newville, Indiana. I am interested in knowing more about the Caldwell, Rodarmer, Hoffstodt, Wile, Totten, Tiffany, and associated families, primarily forward from 1800. Did Hanford & Clara reside for a while in or near Fremont, Newaygo County, Michigan? In our research, we find reference to a Tiffany family there. Norman C. Caldwell, P.S. 738 N. The family photo is of 2 older adults and 4 children, 2 young men and 2 young women -- maybe siblings or maybe 2 grown children with their spouses. The photos are probably from the late 1800s. I have no information in my genealogy records of a Grogg connection. However in talking with a friend who is a Grogg (but doesn't know much of his family's history) I did learn there is a connection to the Peppel (Pepple) line which I also have. Does anyone have any information that could tie the Groggs, Peppel and Brickers?
