Found a great site and thought I'd pass it along. He lists cemeteries World wide that have tombstone transcriptions online. You search by state or other categories. Actually I didnt find it, it found me! He wrote to me saying that one of my cemeteries was added to his list. Here's the letter he sent: >>My website is a directory of links to websites that feature cemetery burial records. If at all possible, will you please let me know if the URL changes, or if you add other cemeteries? Otherwise, keep up the good work, and feel free to add a link back! Looking for information concerning a Winnie ROGERS who married John STRONG in Indiana about 1860. Anyone having information on these surnames please email me as I have no information other than the names and would greatly like to know more about these people. Thank you Sally Jo
Hi Sharon, I just got back from Auburn. Sorry to say, I did not find what I had hoped to, on you ICE ancestors. I did not find their death notices. Only the birth & death of a son, Charles Emanuel, born Aug. 8, 1882, died Jan. 15, 1952, age 69. There was more info on Charles & his family. I copied it if you should want it. The only thing I found for Alice Pearl Ice Soule was that her husbands name was Frank Soule. Their births & deaths plus those of their children might have been listed, but I didn't have time to look. Sorry. Carol PS-- I came back with 10 pages of info on the lines I was researching there.
Carol, Thank you for the look up, what ever information that you have on Charles would be appreciated. Once again Thank you for your time and generacity. Sharon
Anyone needing US census records should check out http://www.allcensus.com . You can get any census records from 1790 thru 1920 on CD-ROM and thus view them on your own computer and use a graphics program to enlarge or enhanse as needed
In a message dated 98-08-06 16:47:20 EDT, you write: << Sue, I am looking for the marriage license for Newton Smith Boyle and Arena Josephina Hay married on July 23, 1874 in DeKalb County, Indiana. This is by word of mouth within the family & I would like proof. I was aware of the Courthouse fire in DeKalb County, but what year did it take place? It may be that I will have to rely on 'word of mouth'. Nancy >> Hello, Nancy, I found a record for the Boyle/Hay marriage you are looking for in the book "Early Marriage Records of DeKalb County, Indiana 1837-1882" compiled by Fayne E. Harter, June 17, 1970, page 222. This record was found in Book IV of the original records. It reads as follows: Newton S. Boyle July 23, 1874 Arena J. Hay by J. H. G. Prim I made a copy of this page in case you would like a copy - all you need to do is send me your "snail" mail address. I don't know if it is possible to obtain copies of the originals or not. If you'd be interested I'll try to find out for you. Evidently there were 2 fires at DeKalb County Courthouses, one of which, according to another compiler, was in 1914. Evidently many records were damaged with portions (mostly first names) being destroyed completely - but these records were carefully salvaged and copied into new books. I have not learned when the 2nd fire occured. Hope this helps. Sue Sablic Indiana [email protected]
Carol, I have not received any answer to this questions. Yes, I would be most grateful if you could look this up. Thank you. Sharon
Did you get a reply yet? Seems I saw a book on the cemetery in question at the library in Auburn (main place for Dekalb Co. records). I won't be going back for another few weeks, but if you still want info from there, I could look it up then. Carol

Hello to all, Would like some information on the Roselawn Cemetery. This is where my Great great Grandfather and Grandmother are buried. Has this cemetery been documented as of yet? If not does anyone know who the Care Taker is and how to reach them? I need to find out information on their death and any other pertinent information that I can find. Their names are William Ice and Mary Kobel Ankey Ice. Mary was born in 1845. I know only that they were buried in this cemetery along with a son. Their headstone only reads "Father, Mother & Son". Also, they had a daughter, Alice Pearl Ice Soule (my Great Grandmother who died in Auburn on 11-13-1930. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sharon [email protected]
