Young states his wife Reb. Miller was born at Mt. Tabor and his daughter at Aurora, Ripley county. Ind. According to the map both statements are inaccurate but I am assuming it is near the area around the church. Also he claims to be born at Coles Corners, Dearborn co, Ind. which I can't locate either. Kay, Cole's Corners, also called Freedom, was a real place in the southern part of Pike Township in Ohio Co., which until 1844 was a part of Dearborn Co. It was located very near Bear Branch - I believe at the intersection of Aberdeen Road and Milton - Bear Branch Road. Today there is an elementary school called "Freedom School" in the area. I have a passage from "The History of Dearborn and Ohio Counties, Indiana - 1885" about the place: Freedom, or Cole's Corners This consists of a little cluster of houses located along the highway where two country roads cross, in the southern part of the [Pike] township, where is a postoffice and some little business. The postoffice was first established on Bear Creek, under the name of Bear Branch, with Henry A. Downey, once a prominent lawyer of Vevay, as postmaster. It was his first entrance into public life, in 1852 or 1858. The office was moved to Cole's Corners in 1855 [1865?], and Darius Ford was appointed postmaster. In 1868 the office was removed to the store of F.W. Housemire, where it remained until 1876, when it was removed to Cole's Corners, and James Buchanan appointed postmaster.
