Hi Karen, Permission slips are little pieces of paper that parents would give their child before they marry to give to the clerk of courts. The paper usually said something like this, "Mr. Clerk of courts, Please let my son- daughter marry Mr. So and so. With the parents signature or X mark. I may have the name of the slip wrong but you get my meaning . I have my Mother living with me or I could go to Dearborn County . She has cancer, and a multitude of problems that go with the age 85. Many thanks, Katie in OH.
