"Mrs. Rhoda Annis, died at the residence of her son, T.T. Annis, Jan.... (can't read it) 1881, aged 83 years, 3 months and 5 days. She was born near G??????? (can't read), Mass., oct. 1st, 1797; removed with her parents to Livonia, N.M. (??hard to read) in early (?) ???? was married to Thomas Annis, now deceased, Jan. 15th, 1819 (could be 1810?), and came to Dearborn county in the fall of 1821. She had six brothers and two sisters, of whom only one, Mr. Alexander Fairbanks, survives her. She had seven children, three of whom died in infancy. She became a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in 1839. Deceased was a woman of great excellence of character, and ????? to her efforts to promote the interest of her family. For some weeks it wa? ??? that she had been failing ???? ????usual, and on Monday the 3rd ???? was taken with a violent para??? attack, thereby losing use of her right side and also partial use of the tongue. ???? ???? time of this attack she gradually sank, until Thursday the 6th inst. ?? 12 o'clock ?? ??? she quietly breathed her last."
