    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: McMullen, Manliff, Platt Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/1827 Message Board Post: Source: The Lawrenceburg Register, Thurs., Dec 27, 1888 ed. "Died, at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. Wm. McMullen, near Hogan Hill Baptist Church, Mrs. Elizabeth Manliff Platt, widow of Smith Platt. Mrs. Platt was born in Tennessee, Decemer 17th, 1807, and at the time of her death, which occurred December 24(?-hard to read), 1888, was nearly 81 years of age---She was married to Mr. Smith Platt in 1825, with whom she lived until his death, which occurred about six years ago. To them were born eleven children, five sons and six daughters; six of these children are still living. She united with the Baptist Church when very young, and since then her life has been that of a christian lady. Her last sickness was of short duration and free from pain. She remained conscious until almost the last, and died as one going to sleep. Shortly before she died she told her children that she was "going home," thus leaving bright evidence that she was worthy of that rest that remains to the people of God. Her funeral services were held at the Hogan Hill Baptist Church, December 5th, 1888, in the presence of a large company of sorrowing friends. The services were conducted by Rev. S.O. Christian, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. Horace Wilson, of Moore's Hill." NOTE: I am not related, and have no further information.
