    3. Fred I have thought for a long time that Adam was the father of Jacob Schmidt but I can't prove it. In the Index of Burials at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Highland Township, Franklin County, IN there is the following: Jacob Schmidt died July 14 1864 72 years old. Adam Schmitt died october 7, 1874 74 years old John Schmitt died 1875 69 years old John Adam Schmitt 66 years old died March 21 1892 I have searched passenger and Immigration lists index 1500s - 19001 Adam Smith Year 1834 Place Baltimore Source Code 2182 Primary Immigrant Smith, Adam Name, date, and place of birth, arrival in the United States, lcoations thereafter, and family inforamtion. Fraustein.) In the Hoosier Genealogist, vol 18:4 (Dec 1978), pp 59-72. Page 66 How do I find more information on the above? Who do I write to? I also found the following: Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild Ship Charles Ferdinand Bremen, Germany to Baltimore, Maryland September 16, 1833 Adam Schmidt Bechtheim 2 1(child 8-12) 1(child 4-8) 2(child 1-4) (Jacob at this time would have been about 6) A note below this entry was that Adam and family settlet in Ripley County, Indiana. He and wife raised 9 Children. Changed the name to SMith soon after arrival. Both are buried at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, STumpke's Corner, Ripley Co. On the markers show Schmidt: I have never been able to find out anything from Ripley County. I need to look at Ripley COunty, IN again. Thank you for any help anyone can give me and also anyone that has responded to me. Bev Jones
