Came with his parents to this country and landed at Cincinnati in 1810, at which place his father died a few days after their arrival. The family then removed to New Jersey, where they remained until 1813, in which year they came to Indiana and settled in what is now the village of Manchester, then an unbroken forest, and erected the first cabin in that vicinity, and opened up a passage from thence to Cambridge, now Tanner Creek. In a few years he sold out and removed to what is now known as the Owry farm, on the dry fork of the Whitewater, which place he occupied a house for a few years, then bought and removed to the farm he resided at his decease, in Miller Township, near Sugar Grove. After a protracted and painful affliction, he departed this life on the 18th... aged 79 years and 2 months, leaving a companion with whom he had lived over 52 years, several children, and many friends to mourn his loss. He had been ! a member of the M. E. Church for several years and said he was ready to go. Lawrenceburgh Register, Dearborn Co., Indiana 22 Jul 1870
