On August 9th, 1874, she was united in marriage to J. W. Swales. Her 50 years of married life were spent in this immediate vicinity, her husband having preceded her to his Heavenly home by a few short months. To this union were born three daughters and two sons. After a severe illness of several weeks duration, she passed away very early in the morning, Tuesday, February 3rd, 1925, at the home of her son, Oscar. She is survived by one son, four grandchildren, one brother, Joseph McCracken of Illinois, and a host of relatives and friends. She united with the M. E. church in girlhood.
