I have found the family of James Freeborn Stafford in the 1900 IN Census. They lived in Aurora IN. I seek anyone that has ties to this/my family. James F Stafford married Catharine Driscoll in St. John CAN in 1869. They had a large family there. Children were William, Alice, John/Jack (my GF), Kate, Jane, Elizabeth/Bess and James Jr. James moved to Aurora to seek work in 1880. The rest of the family came to Aurora in 1884. In the 1880 Census, James shows as a boarder in the household of Harry Halsann. James was a Nailer, and eventually got work at O.P. Cobb Nail and Rolling Company in Aurora. James was born in Ireland. Anecdotal information suggests his father may have been named James as well, and that he was born in England. Kate married Web BETTLE and died giving birth to their 1st child. William married Clara GLARDON. Jane Stafford married Morrey HILL. Bess married Dick CRISWELL (tied to Downey Criswell). John/Jack married Nellie PEARCE and James Jr married Edna SINSEL.
