Dan - that is awesome! The only thing that comes second to that is that Ohio State just won the football game!!! Anyway, I did find Charles, Catharine & Theresa in the 1900 census and yesterday I found Theresa living with married sister Emily and her family (August F Margileth) living in Springfield, Clark Co, Ohio. I recently unburied the obituary for my husbands grandfather and it gave me the married names of his sisters: Mrs A F Margileth, Mrs Carrie Stoddehill of Detroit, Mrs Fred Isselhardt, Mrs Louis Martin and Theresa from Aurora. I spent all last evening searching for them and did turn up a Fred Isselhardt in Aurora in 1920 census, but the name of the wife was 'Henry Eatta' which might be Harriett. I was also searching 'Bowers' which I guess is why I didn't find the family in other census. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I truly don't know if Charles had brothers. My sister-in-law is the only family member still living who remembers their grandmother and she doesn't recall hearing of any other Bauer's. But it does seem like more than a coincidence that our families lived so close, so anything is possible. If I could just find the immigration information from 1847 maybe that would give us more information. Thanks again and I'll stay in touch with any additional information that I might turn up.
