Dan - in reference to your email of 11/18/2006 where you mentioned your relative John Bauer, you said there was a Catherine age 56 living in his household in 1860. I have been searching for more information on her and so far have not turned up anything. From information I pulled several years ago (of which I have no proof at this time), it was suggested that a Christian Bauer born 1800 Wurtemberg, Germany died 1826 and a Cathrine 'Unknown' born about 1802 were my Charles's parents. Could this be your Catherine? The age would be close. Do you have anything more on her?
