There ask Frances, the woman in charge, to give you what she has on Gatenby/Morgan. Also there may be more information in the genealogy department at the Lawrenceburg Library just back up High Street, right next to the courthouse. If there is anything to be know of the people you're loking for it will be in these two places. In the Dearborn County Cemetery Record Book C there is apparently only one tombstone readable in the Morgan/Gatenby Cemetery, that of Henry F. Gatenby, born Oct, 20, 1821, although, Milton Masling has written a good discription of the cemetery. Good luck with your research.

Union Church Cemetery is, in this case, a stand-alone cemetery located down by Chesterville, Indiana. Masling has the coordinates of these family cemeteries; section, town, and range, and the names of those buried there as he found them in the C Book of Cemetery Records. There are quite a number buried in the Heaton Cemetery, but not so many in the others. If you want the coordinates or specific names as Masling has them let me know.

Hello researcher's; Can anyone tell me about the surname of "GUARD" that was in Dearborn Co. In early 1800's??? I have a Joshua Davis whom was given to a male with last name of Guard by court as it said he was an orphan. In reality he was not an orphan. His parents were Cassandra ( Keziah) French and William Davis mar. ( may been Dearborn,, in abt. 1811/12. Unk where). They has 2 sons, Joshua b June 1813 and John b Dec. 1814 ?. Cassandra was b abt 1796 . By 1818 April/June/ Cassandra mar to Moses Brannon(an) they mar. in Franklin Co next to Dearborn Co. She used name as Keziah Davis and he Moses Brannon(an.) Unkown if they divorced or Wm. died. If divorced before 1818 then his mother was still living in Dearborn Co. and untill abt 1829 or early 1830. In at the time of the Court's calling Joshua an Orphan in I think 1824 or 1826. I have the correct full dates of birth for these ch. and mother but not on William Davis. They were not in the home with Cassandra and Moses on 1820 census , as only a female under 5 there. Where were they? The person or family of GUARD may have some info on this Joshua Davis as he was living in home of Guard maybe until about 1830?Moses family went to Jackson Co. In by 1830 as a son was born there and last one before him was be in 1828 in Dearborn. The Cemetery in Dearborn may also have grave of Wm. Davis if he died before 1818 or after???? My big dead end. Thanks for anything on this Cemetery and the Davis, French, or Brannon(an) or GUARD families in Dearborn Co. from 1800 to about 1850. I do not have names of William Davis or Cassandra French parents and also need. Maxine Wilton willma@sprynet.com

This Sept. I will be going to SE Indiana for a week stay. I will be visiting cemeteries and libraries in Switzerland,Ohio, and some area of Dearborn counties. I usually take requests for tombstone pictures from these areas. I must have some information on any names requested: County-Cemetery Name- Section of cemetery if a large cemetery( I have an index of Ohio county )- Location of cemetery The large cemeteries are sometimes too large to walk and search so I must have at least which section to look in. Last year I had to cut my trip short because of hurricane threat. If anyone requested last year and did not receive answer,Please repeat and I will do my best this year Larry NOBLE Naples, Collier County Florida RAOGK Volunteer lnoble30@comcast.net

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sh.2ADI/2047.2.1 Message Board Post: My ancestor William Stevens b. abt 1790 in PA, NY or OH is believed to have married Mary/Cynthia Chilcote in Dearborn Co, IN in abt 1821. Their first son John was born in 1822 'according to his gravestone] in Indiana. Mary Chilcote's father, Robinison L. Chilcote & family lived in Randolph Twp., Dearborn co IN in 1820 as did her brother Benjamin & his family. MARY's sister Permelia was married to Frederick Corrick who lived in Laughrey Twp. of Dearborn Co. in 1820. Mary's sister Jemima was married to George Corrick and they lived in Hocking co., OH in 1820. Prior to coming to Dearborn, Robinson L. Chilcote was living in Randolph Co., VA [his dau. susannah married there in 1808, he was on 1810 census there and his dau. Permilia married there in 1813, so they moved to IN between 1813-1820. Prior to living in VA, Robinson Chilcote lived in Huntingdon Co., PA. with his family. There were a number of Stevens living close by in Huntingdon, including Peter, Vinson (Vincent?), ! William and others. Robinson's wife was Betsy Wright, d/o John Wright and Jemima Hendon. robinson and his wife were born in Baltimore Co., MD. William Stevens & his wife Mary chilcote moved to Hocking cO , OH by 1825 as did Mary's sister Permelia Corrick & her husband Frederick Corrick. On the 1850 census, his birthplace was listed as OH, but on 1860,70, and 80 it is listed as NY. there were only 2 Stevens families in Dearborn Co in 1820 and I don't know if related. One was the family of Ranna [aka Rene, Romeo] Stevens who was b. in Nova Scotia in 1787 and he was in Sparta Twp. The other family appeared to be 4 brothers or other close relatives. there was a census entry for Obadiah Stevens in Laughrey Twp. age 26-45 [ but there were 2 other males of the same age, so one could be William]. Also in Laughrey Twp as the next entry on the census was Charles Stevens age 26-45 and family. I have a suspicion that William may be related to the Uriah Stevens family of CT who lived in the Wyoming Vlley of PA in the 1750's, then later in Albany Co., NY in the 1780's. this was an extended family that spread out across PA and westward. Charles Stevens in Dearborn named a son Uriah and he had a son Silvester also. Those names both appear in the extended stevens family related to the Capt. Uriah Stevens, Rev. War vet of CT, PA, NY. All just circumstantial now ...still working on proof.
Does anyone on this list have access to any cemetery indexes in Dearborn County, Indiana? I am searching for the cemeteries and dates of death for 4 members of the Miller Family. They all lived in Sparta Township, Dearborn County, Indiana. They are Robert Miller born abt 1850 died 1910-1920 Harriet Miller born abt 1850 died after 1930 William B. Miller born abt 1812 died 1880-1900 Sarah Ann Miller born abt 1814 died 1880-1900 Any help will be much appreciated. Jane
