Yes there is a connection to my family. I have Arthur married to Dolores (Dee) Bruns and they also had a son Alan Richard B. 10/22/1952 D. 12/15/1992. I have Gwen Louise married to Finfrock and Kyle Jean married to Russo. I talked to Dee a few years ago on the telephone and she gave me that info. It would appear that Samuel Rowland who married Elizabeth Spickenall in apr 1805 in Frederick Co VA was the son of Gordon Rowland and a brother to Elizabeth, b. about 1795. Frederick Co, Virginia Will Book No. 7, 1802-1804 shows: Rowland (Bowland?), Gordon, Will 20 Dec 1801/1 Feb 1802, Wife: Elizabeth, Children: Sarah, Samuel, Rebecca, Mary, Elizabeth, Lucy, Benjamin, Gabriel, Brother: thomas Rowland. To wife,all estate, personal and real. At her death, all to be sold and monies equally divided among surviving children or their heirs. To son Samuel, one-year-old mare colt, Exrs: wife Elizabeth, son Samuel, brother Thomas. So Gordon's daughter Elizabeth may be the Amelia Roland who married Leonard Spicknall in Frederick Co VA? (I have seen the Otoe County NE article re: Leonard T Spicknall.) Then this Elizabeth (or Amelia) may also be the sister of Samuel Roland who is listed in the 1810 and 1820 Frederick Co VA census? There is no Samuel (that I can see) in Frederick Co VA in 1830. Perhaps he died or migrated west with the Rowlands and the Spicknalls. Would really like to know the names of Samuel's children to determine if he had a son named John. I have not yet located a date/place of death for Samuel or a record of his will. Alma Buerger married Arthur Sehee. They did live in Dayton Ohio. They had a son Arthur Sehee who married Dee ??. They had 2 daughters Guen Louise Sehee and Kyle Jean Sehee. She was the first wife of Leonard Spicknall II (1791-1850), m. 20 Dec 1815 in Frederick Co., VA. She is named on the gravestone of her son William Jonson Spicknall in Yorkville Cemetery. She may be buried there as well. In an Otoe Co., NE biography of her stepson Leonard Thomas Spicknall, she is called Amelia Rowland. I believe she is the daughter of Gordon Rowland. Also, a Samuel Rowland married an Elizabeth Spicknall, daughter of Leonard, on 18 April 1805 in Frederick Co., VA. Perhaps he was a son of Gordon?

John Roland was married to Lydia Fields in Oct 1837 in Montgomery Co Ohio (village of Arlington on the National Rd in Clay Twp) and later moved to Shelby Co Ohio where he died in 1889.
